Adventure Snacks: Nyoki Nyoki from Kracie

Welcome back to Adventure Snacks! I am so glad to be bringing this series back to the blog!

My little family has been indulging in weekly Adventure Snack-ing once a week for a couple of years now, but I’ve been failing to share our discoveries and delights with you in recent history. Well, I shall fail you no more!

Let’s move straight into this week’s Adventure Snack, shall we?

This week’s snack (as you probably gathered from the title of this post, you clever thing) is Nyoki Nyoki from Kracie.

(Picture on left from Amazon and picture on right from YouTube.)

So, just what is Nyoki Nyoki? Well, that’s a fine, fine question, my friends! There’s a definite DIY element here (and we love that!) of creating this odd, thick, vanilla-ish cream in a tray…and then you add flavored powders (melon, grape, and orange) to a second tray…a tray with holes in it. Then comes the real fun! You place the second tray (with powder and holes) into the first tray (with vanilla-ish goo) and squish the ever lovin’ daylights out of it! (Yeah!) This results in a semi-disgusting, semi-fascinating bursting forth of worm-like candy squishing out into the powder…and you’re left with vanilla-ish “noodles” covered in flavored powders.

It is just brilliant.

Now that you know a bit about what Nyoki Nyoki is, let’s talk about our ratings of this treat.

Grace (the 15-year-old):

There was much giggling and silliness in creating the candy (yes!) and then sincere enjoyment while eating the candy (yes!), so this was a definite winner for Grace. Due to the fun factor and the fact that the candy was actually quite tasty, Grace gave Nyoki Nyoki…

9 out of 10 Yums!

John (the husband):

John also really enjoyed the creation process…and was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the treat. He also gave Nyoki Nyoki…

9 out of 10 Yums!

While I was equal parts grossed out and delighted by the creation process, I can’t deny that there was a clear appeal to making these little powdery worms. Fun was definitely had! I was also shocked to find that the candies didn’t taste nearly as icky as I suspected they would…though they were a little too sweet for my liking. Given the amount of gigglesnorts this snack brought to our table, and the fact that the candy was pretty tasty, I’m also giving Nyoki Nyoki…

9 out of 10 Yums!

So, the overall rating for Nyoki Nyoki?

9 out of 10 Yums!

Neat! 😀

What about you? Have you tried Nyoki Nyoki? What about other fun snacks…have you had anything neat recently? Do you have any suggestions for future Adventure Snacks for my dear little family to try? Let me know in the comments!

Interested in more Adventure Snacks? Check back in two weeks…I’ll be adding new snacks every other week (or more). I’ll also be revisiting some snacks that we’ve tried before, but the posts were lost in The Great Blog Shift of 2016. 😉
