Three Things Thursday: Yarn & College & Ants, Oh My!

Welcome back to Three Things Thursday, a way to fill your blogs and social media with the happy!

Three Things Thursday is a simple concept that everyone is encouraged to play along with. All it requires is listing three (or more!) things that are making your life awesome. Please note! The three things you choose each week do not need to be big, huge, mighty, impressive things. In fact, I think it’s much better to focus on smaller, sillier things…because focusing on those little bits of joy and the gigglesnorts that they bring…well, that’s where day-to-day contentment lives, I believe.

So, how do you participate? Easy as falling off a log! Whip up a blog post about three things that are making you smile…then share it on the link up in this post. Don’t want to do a whole blog post? Feel free to post some pictures on Facebook or Instagram! If you tag me in your pictures, I 100% promise to give them appropriate love.❤

Just one more thing! Three Things Thursday posts actually don’t need to be done on Thursdays! I leave the link up active for the whole week every week…so you can be grateful on your own schedule.🙂

Okay, here we goooooo…

Fat, squishy yarn for a little project I’m doing for Grace and friends (more on that later, I promise) makes me so, so happy! 🙂

Grace did pretty darn well on her PSATs, so even though she’s just a wee sophomore, colleges are starting to wheedle their way into her brain. 😉 As I was telling my BFF, I feel like these letters are coming in the same fashion that Hogwarts sent gazillions of letters zipping into Harry’s house. 🙂 The letters make me happy though…I’m so, so proud of how hard Grace is working and all that she’s accomplishing, and I’m delighted by how excited she’s getting about college. Here’s the line up from one day’s worth of mail earlier this week:

John and I noticed swarms and swarms of tiny bugs over our field yesterday, so we went out to investigate. Upon closer inspection, they seemed to be tiny ants. Well, of course we had to get an even closer look! Luckily (for us) we spotted one who things had not ended well for, so we her/him straight to the microscope! I’m afraid the pictures didn’t turn out very well, but that little ant looks amazing! (By the way: It’s really, really bloomin’ hard to take a picture by holding the phone’s camera up to the eyepiece of a microscope…really hard.)

Now, my blog friends old and new, it’s your turn! Click on that little graphic below to share your own three things that are bringing you joy (or leave your list in the comments).🙂

What’s putting a smile on your face this week? Share your gigglesnorts!😀 I would love, love, love to hear all about the awesome bits of life that are making you feel warm and fuzzy.

I think your ant photo turned out quite well!! My kiddo just got a microscope + telescope set for Christmas and I am so excited to try and take photos this way!

Thank you! I hope your little love, love, loves her microscope and telescope! 😀 (And the pictures are fun even if they don’t always turn out wonderfully.) 🙂

Wow! On the letters from colleges all in one day! So are the scores of the PSATs sent out to all the universities? I am wondering how it prompts those letters. At any rate, that is amazing. To have so many choices. And I am sure she will qualify for many scholarships. Just curious, has she given any thought for her major in college? You may have mentioned it before and I apologize for that.

The pic of the ant is awesome! And can’t wait to see the project you are making out of the yarn.

3 things. 1. Thankful to be off to see the inauguration activities. 2. Things seem to be falling into place for a future job for me finally. They are actually creating a job for me. And since I get insurance through the university, I don’t need benefits which gives me more opportunities I would have overlooked before. 3. This time off has allowed me to get caught up on annual dr’s visits for well woman, mammogram, etc. So when I start working I won’t have to worry about these things.

I’m not sure how the magic between PSAT scores and colleges works…I think the colleges can probably access the scores somehow? I know they can also find out GPAs because she was already getting emails from schools based solely on that before the PSAT scores came back. If a person thought too hard about it, that person may become a bit creeped out. 😉

Her current plan is to double major in music and marine biology…and what all these colleges don’t know is that she already has a pretty short list of schools she’d like to go to. 🙂

I’m so glad things are falling into place for you with work…and that you’ve had time to take care of all of those pesky doctors’ appointments!

I thought I had subscribed but didn’t see emails. I did a Three Things Thursday, which I’ll now add since I found you again! Your three things stretch the gamete – from yarn to test scores to swarms of bugs! Can’t get much farther apart than that 😉 Still, all great!

Hehe! I do like to find my joy all over the place. 🙂

Some very wonky things happened with people seeing my posts in their feeds and whatnot once I moved to self-hosted. I’m not really sure how to fix that (and I sure have tried), but I’m glad you found your way back…and I’m super-happy you’ve joined us for Three Things Thursday! 😀
