#WeekendCoffeeShare: The One Where I Pass the Reigns Back

Hello, wonderful blog peoples! I hope you’ve had an absolutely amazing week and that the weekend is already magical for you. We’re doing something a bit different here at Coffee Share this weekend…you’ll actually be able to join the link up from here or at Part-Time Monster…both sites will have the same link up, so you can use whichever you prefer. 🙂 Why are we doing things this way? Well, to get you used to the change of venue, of course! Weekend Coffee Share will be returning to its original host next week, so that fabulous monster and I thought this would be a good way to make the transition smooth and painless. 🙂

Now that we’ve gotten those details out of the way, let’s cozy in for our regular chat, shall we? (Okay, to be honest, I’ve actually written this post ahead of time…something I don’t much like to do, but I’ll explain why in a bit.)

Last Weekend

Last weekend was pretty low key for us. We didn’t do anything outside of our usual routine (mostly just going to the park and goofing about like we do)…yeah, just not much to report there. 😉

The Past Week

This past week has been lovely…in a very quiet and routine way. Other than a PTSO meeting and a lovely “lunch and pool” date with some fabulous ladies, everything has been very relaxed and regularly scheduled…delightfully boring!

Probably the most exciting thing from last week was making our hotel reservations for our eclipse adventure. Where we live, there will not be a total eclipse. Well, you can probably guess that we don’t want to miss the total eclipse experience, so John and I will be loading up the car with travel supplies (and Grace and her BFF, of course) and heading to South Carolina for the big event. We want to hit a couple of museums while we’re there (including a huge observatory that is open to the public once a week), so we’ll be staying a couple of nights. Since this is all happening so close to my birthday, we’re just calling it a birthday trip. 😉

This Weekend

Ah, this weekend. This weekend is not going to be a boring affair! We’re starting bright and early this morning for a 5-hour guided hike around our favorite park. We’ll be covering just over 13 miles and learning tons of nifty stuff about the park and wildlife. Super fun! This hike is the reason, as you probably suspected, that I’m writing this blog post in advance. I’ll be getting up at 5:00 am on Saturday just to get breakfast before hiking…needless to say, I’m not super interested in getting up earlier than that. 😉

We’ll spend the second part of our day driving Grace to drop her off with her mom and then doing some shopping.

Sunday? It’s all about the disc golf, y’all….well, disc golf and general lounging about. 😀

Next Week

It looks like it’s going to be another quiet one! I have another PTSO meeting on the agenda…and that’s about it for excitement on the calendar. 😉 I know, I know…very unusual for me to have two quiet weeks in a row, but we can’t party all the time…I guess…for some reason. 😉

We do have some other fun adventures on the calendar for this Summer, but I’ll tell you all about those in a future post.

And You?

Okay, that’s plenty of yapping from me. What about you? For right now, I want to hear all about what you’re up to! Have you been into anything exciting? Enjoying a quiet, relaxing Summer? Do you have any plans to travel for the eclipse? Tell me all about it!

Oh, and don’t forget to check out Part-Time Monster’s blog for her Weekend Coffee Share post this week…and future Weekend Coffee Share link ups!

And until we chat again, I hope you have an amazing week full of love and hugs and giggles and learning and fun! ♥

Wow, 13 miles in 5 hours? I hope to get moving again soon, just had a steroid injection in my hip. Sounds like a great day!

While you were hiking, my daughter (my baby) turned 13! So hard to believe, it’s the topic of this week’s post.

I’ve loved coming here for weekendcoffeesshare, even if I haven’t gotten here as often as I might like. I’ll be looking you up, though!

May you delight in the eclipse! Travel isn’t in our plans, but may you enjoy!

Sounds like fun stuff going on. I’m looking forward to seeing all my friends geeking out about the Eclipse 🙂 I have the day off from work, so am hopefully going to be spending it with friends who are in the totality zone 😀
