#WeekendCoffeeShare: The One Where I’m Crazed…Again

Good morning, amazing blog friends! Come on in and grab some coffee…but, honestly, you might want to put it in a “to go” cup. I am having an absolutely crazed morning, so I may just put you to work if you stick around for long. 😉

Of course, any great morning is started by waking up super-late (possibly because I was up until midnight dealing with Sweeney Todd stuff?), but it just gets better when you add a billion things to do for tonight’s dinner theatre and a most awesome husband’s birthday. 😉

Because I’m running late, I’m going to do that nifty, cheat-y thing where I go ahead and post with the link up (just because I’m having a chaotic morning doesn’t mean I should add to your chaos!)…and then add updates as the day progresses.

Before I scoot out of here to pick up flowers for centerpieces and doughnuts for dinner theatre helpers and possibly some candy for the depleted concession stand (holy wow, y’all should have seen the crowd last night…and they apparently all wanted candy at intermission), I do want to hear about your week! Anything fun or exciting or fulfilling going on? Anything you’re just wanting to chat about?

If you’re interested, I’m thinking of adding a “the day in pictures” type thing here throughout the day…so definitely check back! (I’ve never added to the blog from my phone before, so I’m not sure how well that works. If it turns into a tragic mess, I might just add the pictures in the break between dinner theatre set up and actually going with my family to dinner and the show.) 🙂

Whatever happens with the updates, I hope you have a beautiful day!

[Update] Before leaving the house, we did cover up the refrigerator with birthday signs for John to find when he gets up. 😊

[More Updates] Shew! It’s been one heck of a day, and we’re not even close to done. Here’s what we’ve been up to so far…

We picked up lots of flowers…and doughnuts. (Doughnuts not pictured, sadly…they did not survive long enough for a photo session.) 😉

Then lots of decorating happened in preparation for tonight’s dinner theatre! The caterer should be arriving right about now (a few minutes after 4:00), so things should be getting even more fun. 😉 (By the way, we’re aiming for a 1930s worn-down-industrial-factory type vibe…because that’s the setting the director went with for the musical.)

Grace worked so hard on the decorations that she was overcome by a little nap right there in the school cafeteria. 😀

After all of the decorating fun, we headed back home for some birthday fun. We’ve been giving John daily presents all week, but today was a super-fun one. A few months ago, John was telling me that when he was a kid he had one of those awesome posters with mineral samples on it…but then he took the samples off so he could touch them, and they all got lost…and he was sad to this day about losing those mineral samples. Well, of course I logged that in my brain thing, and, for his birthday, he got a mineral collection that he can touch all he wants…

And to make sure even more fun was had, we got another collection of unlabeled minerals and rocks for him to play with and identify…the set even came with a couple of geodes for cracking. 😀

And because we know how to rock a birthday (haha…get it???), we also spent part of the afternoon gently pulling apart an owl pellet and looking at the tiny little mouse bones inside. Neat!

And now it’s almost time for us to head back up to the school for dinner and a show and some more helping out. I’m sure there will be more pictures to share, but they’ll have to wait until tomorrow morning. (And that would be before we head up to the school one more time to help out with the last performance of Sweeney Todd…before splitting just in the nick of time to make it to a showing of The Neverending Story at a local theater. Woot!) So, yeah, more updates tomorrow morning…and that’s when I’ll spend some time with your posts and comments, too. Until then, have a super-awesome evening!

And now it’s time for you to show me (and the rest of the Coffee Share crew) yours!

And until we chat again, I hope you have an amazing week full of love and hugs and giggles and learning and fun! ♥

Sounds busy! Looking forward to hearing about your week, but if you don’t slow down enough to post about it, that is a very good thing 😉

Happy birthday to John! What a sweet idea to put those signs on the refrig.

Awww, thank you! He really liked his signs (though I suspect that us letting him sleep in instead of dragging him to dinner theatre set up was even more appreciated). 🙂

I like the day in pictures idea. I know it is very different to use the laptop to any mobile device..I end up going back to the laptop..but I wish you very good luck with the phone. I am going poetic for April, so I wrote a transition piece to explain my behavior.

I managed to get part of the day in pictures…but then things got so busy and crazy that I dropped the ball on updating. I hope you have a fabulous go of it with your April poetry!

Happy Birthday to your husband and all the best with performances. I find with my kids’ performances there’s so much stress in the lead up and I’m thinking “never again”, but then I’m in my seat and engrossed in the performance and my taxi’s all fired up for the next one.
My daughter starts high school next year and has 3 auditions for the performing arts stream in about a month’s time. I spent last night researching monologues and she’s either looking at something by Heroine Granger or the scene where Alice goes down the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland. She’s already sat for the selective high school tests but tomorrow she sits a test for the selective test at out local high school. It’s a lot for an 11 year old.On a more positive note, she’ll be off on a 3 day dance camp with the NSW education dept in a few weeks. It’s up in the Blue Mountains and I can’t help feeling like taking a few days off up there and booking in somewhere. I could use a breather.
So, things here are a little crazy as well.
    Take care & best wishes,
    Rowena

I think Grace’s audition for art school was the most nerve-tangling audition she’s ever had…I totally feel your pain. I’m sending lots of happy “perform well” thoughts your daughter’s way. 😀 I hope things get calm and smooth for you soon. Next week is Spring Break for us, so it will be nice to have a week free of anything school related. 😉

What fun! Hope your hubs had a great birthday! Owl pellet, that’s a new one for me! LOL Kinda creepy to find the bones.. Cool though. What a great gift to find the minerals!

His birthday was a great success! 😀 Owl pellets are super-neat…owls do this weird thing where they hork up the hair and bones and stuff they can’t digest in this odd little pellet. We happened to find one in the yard, so we had to take a peek. 🙂

John really liked his minerals! He spent quite a long time peering at each one of them. 😀

Thank you for the birthday wishes for John! It turns out that I didn’t actually get a chance to catch my breath until this morning, but that’s okay because everything went so perfectly. 🙂 I actually have a pretty light calendar for the rest of the week, so I’m looking forward to a couple of days of getting caught up. I hope your week is wonderful!

I do not know how you function with so much going on! But congrats on what looks like another successful adventure-filled day! The decorations look awesome, and that was such a thoughtful gift! I know that I file stuff away like that as well. I’m busy getting info about the Boy so I can start spoiling him once my financial situation improves a bit… Thanks for sharing! See you next weekend!

Hehe…I try to just not think too hard about all of the stuff I have going on…if I stop to give it too much thought, I get overwhelmed, but if I just keep moving, I tend to get everything handled. 🙂 It was definitely an adventure of a weekend, and everything went so, so well! Have fun spoiling the Boy!

Thanks for the birthday wishes for John!

I wish I had done a better job of keeping things updated throughout the weekend, but I just got swamped. I’d love to see other people’s posts about how their days are progressing…a little glimpse into a “day in the life” type thing…that would be nifty. 🙂

Things were definitely super-busy, but we managed to squish it all in…even a special viewing of The Neverending Story on Sunday! (So, so awesome.) I think his birthday week was 100% successful…a nice welcome to 45. 😀

I hope you are having an amazing week yourself!

What a week a picked to come on back. My crazy has been different, but still…crazy. Writing a novel…doing a blog challenge…finishing up another novel….getting a new laptop and working to pass on mine to my Accomplice, and his to our daughter….and now I want those minerals and an owl pellet of my very own! =)

Enjoy the crazed chaos. I typed in little letters in honor of Grace’s nap. =)
