#WeekendCoffeeShare: The One Where Life Just Keeps Being Fun

Hello, gorgeous blog friends! I apologize for running a bit late this morning…somehow time has already gotten away from me before 8:00 on a Saturday morning. (Mostly because I stayed up way past my bedtime last night, and, in turn, slept in until 7:15 this morning. *gasp*) 😉 Now that I’m up (and partially caffeinated), let’s have a babble, shall we? The dinosaurs will be happy to pour you a hot cup of coffee and serve you up a plate of fresh fruit…let’s head out to the porch while the morning breezes are still keeping temperatures comfortable. Snug as a bug? Okay, let the babbling commence…

Last Weekend

Last weekend was absolutely fantastic! Wilmington is such an amazing town…I’m pretty sure I would never ever ever get tired of being there. I think my favorite bit of the whole trip happened on Sunday. We went to Airlie Gardens for the first time, and that place is seriously like some sort of portal to a magical realm or something. Here, I’ll show you a couple of pictures:

Of course we did lots of other stuff while we were there, too (fondue, boat tour, trolley tour, a return trip to the Museum of the Bizarre so Grace and Adrian could see it), but those gardens were the show stealer for me. 🙂

The Past Week

The past week has been fairly calm. I did manage to get a couple of blog posts up…one about zombie plants and dinosaur plants and another about building a plant maze. 🙂 (By the way, I’m having so, so much fun doing this stuff for the blog…I’m so glad I’ve made my return to STEAM blogging!)

Out here in the world away from the blog, the highlights of the week have been the usual suspects. Long walks at the park with John, volunteering with the kitties, and general nerding about. 🙂

This Weekend

Well, until a couple of days ago, I thought this weekend was going to be a quieter one…lots of park time and not much else on the agenda. But then I discovered that a (fairly) local museum has a Clash of the Robots event and a new dinosaur exhibit happening today. Robots and dinosaurs, y’all! Well, I’m sure you all know that it would be physically impossible for me to pass that up…so we’ll be heading out there in just a short bit. 🙂 (How lucky am I to have such an awesome husband?!? I said, “Robots and dinosaurs?” He said, “When and where?” Ah, nerd compatibility.) 😀

Tomorrow is actually a 100% plan free day, so who even knows where the day could take us? 😉

Next Week

I am so super looking forward to next week! My BFF and I are getting in the car on Tuesday and heading off for a couple of days of beach adventure. Of course, our idea of “beach adventure” is wearing giant, floppy hats (we are Southern ladies after all), sitting on a balcony, and watching the ocean as we babble about life. We seriously have no agenda beyond “hats and balcony.” 🙂

And You?

Okay, that’s so way enough of my babble. What about you? Do you have any fun plans this weekend? Any museum trips in your future? Do you ever run off with your best friend for a couple of days? If so, how do y’all like to vacation? Been on any awesome trips recently? Did you see anything that just took your breath away? What’s going on in your world? Tell me all about it in the comments!

And until we chat again, I hope you have an amazing week full of love and hugs and giggles and learning and fun! ♥

Your attention to tourism detail continues to impress me….OMG those gardens!!!! I think the moss is the key to the special feeling..it has been a while since I have seen Spanish moss…always sets the tone. I am sure your hat on balcony will be stylish and suave!!! Enjoy that Carolina summer! Thanks for coffee.

Love your garden photos. Looks like a really dreamy place. I did run off to the beach this week with my daughter for a few days. She also loves floppy hats! Hope you and your BFF have fun

I’m glad things are going so well for you! Seems like you made a good choice to do the STEAM thing for your blog… Not entirely sure what that is, but I’m glad it is going well for you. Enjoy your beach time with big floppy hats! I have serious plans to go to the beach at some point next week, too. Although I don’t think I’ll have any big floppy hats in my beach adventure…

Have fun with your BFF. I have enjoyed looking at your early play puzzles. I need to Denver to turn my plants so the all grow nicely and not lopsided.
