#WeekendCoffeeShare: The One with a Big Ol’ Announcement

Hello, beautiful blog friends! I hope your weekend is off to an amazing start! Come on in and let these dinosaurs pour you some delicious, freshly brewed coffee. We have plenty of yogurt and fresh fruit…feel free to grab a snack before we settle in for a chat. 🙂

Last Weekend

Last weekend was another amazing one! John and I went to Gastonia, NC to check out the Schiele Museum…because robots and dinosaurs! Here, I’ll show you some pictures of the weekend highlights (not all involving robots and/or dinosaurs). 😉

As if that weren’t enough, we also had a fabulous day on Sunday…we packed up a big picnic and headed to the park for a day of disc golf and relaxing outside…much fun was had! 😀

The Past Week

The past week was also fantastic! I spent Tuesday through Thursday at Topsail Island with my BFF. Other than a couple of adventures out to try local restaurants and some long beach walks (why, yes, we can make it to that pier…and we should probably splash through as many tide pools as possible along the way), our entire trip was all about hanging out with each other and enjoying this view:

Yeah, we spent pretty much the entire time we were there on our balcony…just soaking in the awesome of it all. 🙂

This Weekend

Shockingly, we don’t have a lot of plans for this weekend. Since it’s a four-day weekend for John, you’d think we would have planned something, but we usually keep things pretty close to home for Independence Day. (We’re not big fans of big crowds…or loudness…or drunk people, and these are all things that seem to come with the July 4th package.) Instead of travels or celebrations, we’ll probably do our usual park thing…and maybe take in a museum in Charlotte. 🙂

Though I avoid 4th of July shenanigans like the plague, I do hope my blog friends in the U.S. thoroughly enjoy the holiday!

Next Week

Other than some PTSO planning meetings (including lunch with some fabulous ladies), I don’t have much on the agenda next week that isn’t part of the usual routine.

I do have a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT about future Weekend Coffee Share hosting though! After careful consideration, I have decided that I do not have the time to properly tend to Weekend Coffee Share. When I first started hosting, my weekends weren’t quite so full, and I had a lot of time. Since then, my husband and I have started doing even more exploring and adventuring and playing than we used to, and while I adore Weekend Coffee Share, that time enjoying life with my husband is a higher priority for me now.

Given that, it makes me ever so happy to announce that Weekend Coffee Share will be returning to Part Time Monster’s blog! It turns out that this is a great time for her to resume hosting…isn’t it just marvelously nifty how these things work out? 😀

I am not absolutely certain of the date for the transition yet, but Part Time Monster and I will definitely keep everyone informed about the details. 🙂 And I’ll totally still be participating in Weekend Coffee Share, so we’ll still be able to keep up with each other!

And You?

Okay, that’s plenty of rambling from me. What about you? Do you have any fun plans this weekend? How do you like to spend the 4th (if you’re here in the U.S.)? Are you excited about Weekend Coffee Share returning to Part Time Monster’s place? (I am!) See anything nifty right in your yard recently? Tell me all about it in the comments!

And until we chat again, I hope you have an amazing week full of love and hugs and giggles and learning and fun! ♥

Certainly sounds like a fun filled time. I am excited that my boys are finally not scared of dinosaurs, visiting the dinosaur museum with 2 terrified children didn’t go well. Anyway, great post, thanks for sharing.

Your island trip sounds (and looks!) wonderful! What a great beach view. We don’t do much for the 4th either (our family has the same aversion to large crowds, loudness, and drunk people) but we are lucky that we can see the town fireworks from the top of the hill in the backyard! So we usually have a fire, roast some smores, and watch some fireworks. We’re thinking of doing a night hike up a trail to watch a different towns fireworks the next day too – fireworks from up on a mountain sound pretty great!!

Thanks for hosting Emily, and taking us along on those fun adventures you have had lately. This beach trip makes me drool. I also travel to seek museum time, so I fully agree that crowded times are no time to travel at all..I look for low peak everything, even dinging at a restaurant. I want to go when nobody else is there…

Pretty beach photo! And I’m sorry you can’t host, but am happy to hear about Part-Time Monster! See you in the Share, just not as our gracious host. 🙂

Sounds like a nice week. I don’t have plans for the 4th either – I drove home today and it was busy! Don’t want to leave again unless I have to 😉

Very Cool that you were able to pick up the Weekend Coffee share when Part Time Monster wasn’t able to. I guess it was good timing all around.

Your beach getaway looked dreamy. Looking forward to my beach getaway during Labor Day week. Your 4th plans sound like mine. Quiet and uneventful. Just returned from Ireland on Sat eve and needed quiet recharging time. Will miss seeing you host Weekend Coffee Share but I can certainly understand busy. Have a great rest of the week! 😊
